Mrs. Delrose Egwu
Mrs. Egwu is the full-time counselor at P.T. Coe Elementary School. She was born and raised in the Virgin Islands and graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School in St. Thomas, US VI. She attended Norfolk State University and earned a BS in Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University. After graduating in 1983, she started her teaching career in New York City where she worked for two years. She and her husband then relocated to Laredo, Texas where she worked for 1 year as a 6th grade teacher. Mrs. Egwu moved to Phoenix in 1986 where she taught for the Phoenix Elementary District for 15 years. She earned her M.Ed from Arizona State University in 1989 and completed her School Counseling requirements at the University of Phoenix in 2003. She has been working at P. T. Coe Elementary school for 14 years, and as the school counselor for 11 years. She enjoys helping make a positive difference in the lives and education of her students. She also enjoy working with the teachers, administrators, parents and the community. Ms. Egwu has two young adult sons, Quincy and Jeremy, and in her spare time she enjoys reading, watching old cowboy TV shows/movies, visiting the zoo and museums, camping with her church scout group and hiking.
